@David Heckmann Not sure i quite understand the question… 

I think what you are asking is if you can free text as an option in the dropdown column question in a form right? 

So like an option “other” that will allow you to enter in free text? 

In this case you will need to add a dropdown option called for example “other” and  an additonal text column. Then use conditional logic so that when the dropdown option other is selected it shows the text field to input free text.
